Hello we have an open staircase no riser and with our little girl on the verge of crawling we would like to secure the stairs this would of course be in addition to having a gate how hard is it to install risers.
This is tricky to do on open tread so i m wanting to know an easy way to add risers to these stairs given there is not much access behind the stairs.

Then we replaced them and made sure they stuck out a little more than they were originally placed so that when we added the 1 4 inch plywood risers on it still.
Can they be pre painted and then glued or is there a way of attaching that won t show on the treads.
